Backyard Brawl; Big Game, Differenet Reasons

As much as I'm looking forward to Saturday's Backyard Brawl with our inbred, country neighbors from WVU, I'm going to be honest, it is not for the same reasons as every other year. In the years that Pitt was managing more than 4 wins in a season, the Brawl was the defining game of the entire campaign, both in terms of pride, and Big East standings. This year, not so much.

WVU is the #2 team in all of the land, and 1 win away from a (possible) national championship berth; the only good thing that can come of this game is that Pitt makes sure that doesn't happen.

Even though the game means nothing to Pitt, even though this season (the last 3 seasons, actually) have been painful to watch, the fact that Pitt can ruin WVU's chance at a national championship is, strangely, enough to make everything okay. Silky Johnson would be proud of this extrodinary display of player hating.
